The University of Winchester class of 2015 has finally graduated…
After officially finishing uni over 6 months ago and having been given our overall grades about four months ago, we finally got to graduate last week in Winchester Cathedral. It was really lovely to see a load of my course mates that I hadn’t seen in months and also sad to think it will probably be one of the last times we will all be together.
The Cathedral atmosphere is a really beautiful place and it felt like a privilege to have our ceremony held there. Our Chancellor is Alan Titchmarsh, so we all got to shake his hand!
It was a very surreal experience to walk out of the Cathedral to so many people clapping and cheering for us, I can only assume that’s what it must feel like for famous people. Another thing that felt surreal was wearing the robes. It felt like I was going to Hogwarts for the first time especially when entering the Cathedral.
After having attended two graduations previously (One for my sister and one for my boyfriend) it was nice for it to be me for a change. I got to be the one wearing the robes and being congratulated on something that I worked hard on achieving. All those late nights and stressful breakdowns paid off as I went from a low 2:2 in first year, as I didn’t really care about what grade I got as long as I passed, to a achieving a mid 2:1 overall.
Now it’s back to normality of entering the big wide World and deciding as to whether I want to enter back into the world of education at some point.
Here’s a couple of photos from the day below:
