I know we’re in to November now (and probably now have the November box!) but seeing as I had only just gotten round to trying out the products in last month’s box, I thought I’d write a post about them. October’s box is named Back to Basics, rather than sample make up products, the box has a selection of more general necessities.
Eyeko Fat Liquid Eyeliner in Black: I really liked this the first few times I used it, the only issue I have is that it smudges after long use (regardless of whether you wear eye primer) and it also fades to a noticeably greyish colour. I like how easy it is to apply but if there was a way to expand its wear time, I would definitely consider buying this.
Seche Vite Nail Polish: I’ve never been much of a fan of clear nail polishes as I find they damage my nails more wearing them than without. However, after applying this polish as a top coat layer on top of my standard nail polish, I feel that it’s created a longer wear without chips and made my nails look almost acrylic due to the shine it gives off.
Bioderma Micellar Water: I’m a huge fan of Micellar water and this does not disappoint. It makes me face feel cleansed and refreshed as well as removing any make up left from my make up wipes.
Regenerate Toothpaste: I really like this toothpaste. It has a really mellow, minty flavour but leaves your teeth feeling fresh with a nice after taste. As much as I like it, I’m not sure as to whether I would repurchase it due to it being a hefty £10 which I feel is a lot for toothpaste. However, once I’ve properly finished the tube off, I may change my mind.
Beaver Professional Shampoo: This shampoo makes my hair feel soft and silky but not in the slightest bit greasy. I find a lot of shampoos either dry my hair out or irritate my scalp and cause dandruff. This, however, does not. Although I haven’t used it long enough and I doubt my sample bottle will give me enough of an opinion to decide as to whether it replenishes damaged hair. It’s priced at £11.50 so not an ideal price if you are on a budget but so far, it feels lovely on my hair and I’m quite tempted to buy a full size bottle.
Beaver Professional Conditioner: This was included in my box as a bonus sample. You only need to use a pea size amount on your hair to make it feel soft and smooth (and I have long, thick hair that generally needs a LOT of conditioner!).
Overall, I very much enjoyed this box and cannot wait to try out the samples’ that November carries!
