So I thought it was about that time of the month, I should get round to writing about this months Birchbox…
Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer:
I’ve been wanting to try this since it was released a while back. When I heard it was being sampled in this box, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this month’s box! However, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Now don’t get me wrong, I like it and seeing as it’s a brown colour it would look a lot more natural to wear on it’s own than your standard mascara. When it comes to Benefit mascara, I’m much more a fan of the Rollerlash mascara as I prefer the style of the brush. I probably wouldn’t buy it as it’s a little steep in price for something I’m not 100% on, I think I would much prefer to have a Rollerlash tinted primer – here’s to wishful hoping, eh?
Jelly Pong Pong Lighten Up Brightener + Waterliner:
I have been wanting a neutral/white eyeliner for a while and when this came in my box, I was looking forward to trying it. I’ve been using it on my lower lashline to brighten my eyes but still give them a natural look. I usually tend to wear this on days I’m going to work.
Whish Three Whishes Almond Body Butter:
I’m not that fond of this body butter as it smells like marzipan which I’m not a fan of. It’s an alright moisturiser but I wouldn’t rate it as one of the best that I’ve received from Birchbox.
Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle:
Although I’ve received this in a previous Birchbox, I really like using this in my hair and I’d just run out of my previous sample.
Absolution L’Eau Soir et Matin:
I don’t mind this cleansing water but it doesn’t smell particularly great and I don’t think it’s any better at wiping my make up off as my usual toner and cleansing water. I will finish the sample but it’s not something I would purchase.
Birchbox Compact Mirror:
This compact mirror is rather useful to keep in my handbag for touching up make up throughout the day.
I’m not going to lie, I was a bit sceptical about this collaboration as to how it was going to work. I don’t really see how these postcards represent Pinterest. I was discussing it with my friend Kate the other day that perhaps the postcards should have included recipes, beauty tips, home decor ideas, etc that people love using Pinterest for.
Overall, I’m not a huge fan of this month’s box but hopefully February’s will be better!
