A mini haul from Superdrug

Just a few bits I picked up from Superdrug before Christmas…

lebellelavie - A mini haul from Superdrug

While everything now is starting to get back to normal, I thought I would do a quick post about a few beauty items I bought before Christmas. As just before Christmas, I popped in to town to pick up a festive nail varnish but alas, like always, I came back with more than what I’d bargained for.

B. Pure Micellar Cleansing Wipes:
I saw that these were 49p, so thought I thought I would give them a try! These wipes feel lovely on your skin and are pretty good at wiping away make up as well as cleansing your face! They make your face feel lovely and smooth. You don’t have to but I still use my Micellar Water and toner to make sure that all my excess make up is removed. Superdrug have changed the price of these to buy one get one free for £1 rather than 49p, so not a huge amount of difference! Go grab some while you can!

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint  Sparkling Amethyst:
So the nail varnish I was originally going in to town for…? Wasn’t actually this one but a Barry M one I had seen a few days earlier called “Ruby Woo”. Sadly, this was all sold out when I finally got round to buying it. As much as I wanted a nice sparkly red one for Christmas, I decided to go for this one as Superdrug have a 2 for 1 offer on Barry M products and there was a couple of their products I’ve been eager to try for a while! I really liked this and I was impressed at how long I wore it for without it chipping (about 5 days).

Barry M Flawless Brightening Primer:
I’ve seen a few reviews on this from bloggers raving about it and considering I usually stick to Rimmel when buying everyday wear primers, I thought I would give this one ago! I picked up the purple coloured one referred to as “brightening” as my skin could probably do with a bit of colour and correcting being put back in to it! I’m not sure whether I would rate it as better than my Rimmel primer but I feel that it’s just as good with that my make up only starts to go shiny as I finish work. So you get a pretty good 9/10 hours wear with it! Depending upon what’s on offer at the time, I would probably repurchase this.

Barry M Lip Paint Just Peachy:
I’m not a fan of nude lipsticks but I’m slowly coming round to them as I wanted one with a suttle colour that can be worn daily at work etc. Don’t get me wrong, I love my dark, vampy or vibrant, bright lips but I think it looks a bit much when I’m at work or wanting minimal make up on. I wasn’t sure of this colour at first but after a couple of times of wearing it, I actually really like it and it has now become my “go-to nude” lipstick. It also lasts a good few hours before needing to be reapplied but one thing I will say is that it doesn’t glide on as well as Rimmel’s Kate Moss lipsticks. However, it does last a good 4/5 hours so I would definitely purchase again!

MUA Skin Define Hydro Powder:
While I was in Superdrug, I remembered that I didn’t have much powder left so thought I should probably buy some more before Christmas. I’m a fan of MUA’s lipstick collection and whilst I was browsing, I saw this powder for £3. Rather than having an almost dusty feel if you like, this feels rather soft and velvetty and that it actually smooths in to your foundation rather than sitting on top, looking cakey. It lasts most of the day while I’m at work so you have a good 6/7 hours wear for it. What also drew me this was the fact it’s “transucculent” powder which is actually pure white. With my pale skin unfortunately although a lot of powders say they’re for pale skin, they actually end up making me look orange while this doesn’t. I would definitely repurchase this.
