Max Factor Lipstick Marilyn Monroe Collection

Playing with the new Max Factor Lipstick Marilyn Monroe Collection…

Today’s post (as the title may give it a way!) is all about the new Max Factor Marilyn Monroe lipstick collection. I was lucky enough to receive one of the new lipsticks by Max Factor from their Marilyn Monroe collection that they were giving away. If you know me, you will know that I love vintage icons so I was exceedingly happy to receive this.

As you probably can gather, having the name “Marilyn Monroe” will probably mean that the collection is based on the days of the Hollywood “golden era”. If you did then yes, you would be right. *pat on the back for you!*

There are four varying shades of red either from a vibrant red to a maroon red. I asked for the one named Ruby Red. As you can see, probably one of the most classic reds worn in Hollywood and a red lipstick probably most commonly seen on Taylor Swift these days. I picked up number “1: Ruby Red”. It’s got more orange undertones to it which I usually tend to prefer my red lipsticks having more orange tones rather than pink.

So what did I think of it? Personally, I liked it. It glides on pretty smoothly and lasts for good few hours before perhaps needing a little touch up! I found the best way to wear it was with a lip pencil as it can help define your lips a bit more than just with the lipstick. It’s definitely going to be a firm choice for a vintage red lippy in my make up box.

When wearing these lipstick shades we can all dream that we look as gorgeous and glamorous as Marilyn herself…

If you want to buy the lipsticks from the Marilyn Monroe collection, you can purchase them from Boots. It’s currently priced at £7.99 and Max Factor is currently on a “3 for 2” offer.

Have you tried the Marilyn Collection yet? What did you think? What other iconic red lipsticks do you use?
