Elle were giving away samples of the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil from their new brow range so I purchased it so tee if it lives up to the hype surrounding it…
As you may have seen recently, Benefit have recently released a load of new brow products and Elle are giving away samples of the new Goof Proof Brow Pencil with this month’s issue. Like most bloggers and beauty lovers, I obviously had to purchase this. I’m no newbie to Benefit as I own a number of their products and believe me, this does not disappoint!
It claims to be for those people that have “patchy brows” and I have to be honest here, I am one of those people! You know those people that over pluck their brows and have to invest in brow products to get a decent shape? Yeah, I have to admit that I’m one of them.
What I liked about this product is that it doesn’t smudge like a lot of other brow pencils do. After a full day in the office, I don’t have to worry that my brows have melted off! It’s perfect for those long days where you need your makeup to just last. Another advantage, is that it adds a complete natural look to your brows so there’s no need to worry about them looking like they’be been drawn on by crayons. I have also found that they actually match in with my eyebrows quite well. I’ve always described myself as having almost black/brown hair but now I’ve stopped dying it so much I would actually describe it as a medium brown. So I always tend to use the mid/dark brown brow pencils but no matter how many I try, they never really seem to match in with my brows. It’s either too light or too dark while this, on the other hand, is a perfect match.
The only negative comment I have to say about this is that you can’t really use it to shape your brows with, so you will need to use another pencil to make them look precise! It may also be quite hard for some people to get their head around using it at first as when they describe it as a “pencil” I wouldn’t really describe it as as a pencil. The nib is exactly the same as the Benefit They’re Real! eyeliner gel which takes a bit of practice in order to get it to work properly. This isn’t an issue for me now but from experience, I know it took practice in order to not put too much of the gel on your eyelids as the same could be said with this product.
Other than that, for £4.10, I’d recommend buying. Elle are also giving away a buy one get one free brow waxing offer. Would I repurchase this product? Depending upon how much of a budget I was on that month then yes, I would. You can purchase the Benefit Goof Proof brow pencil from Boots and Benefit‘s official website and you can pick up this month’s Elle edition in most shops.
Have you tried Benefit’s Goof Proof pencil yet or are you planning on buying it? If so, what did you think of it?
