Before trying this brand, I had never heard of Beverley Hills Formula toothpaste before attending the Bloggers Festival. When it comes to hair and teeth products, I quite often don’t have many brands that I feel overly loyal to so am always willing to try new brands out whenever I can. After having a chat with the BHF consultants, I thought I would give it a go.
Who are Beverley Hills Formula?
BHF are an Irish brand, established in 1992, they set out to provide premium quality oral care products to help you achieve a “Hollywood smile”. The BHF brand pride themselves on being a cost-effective way to achieve a whiter smile and were the first brand in the UK to introduce a “Money Back Guarantee” system and is still honoured today.
The Beverley Hills Formula Range
The brand has expanded their range in providing a much larger selection of oral care products, including Dentist’s Choice Gum & Whitening Expert and Natural Whitening Expert toothpastes launched in 2011. BHF launched their Perfect White range launched in 2012 with the first two products Perfect White and Perfect White Sensitive and in 2013 Perfect White was shortlisted for the prestigious MyFaceMyBody awards in the UK. It received a Highly Commended Award in the Best Dental Hygiene Product category. The latest edition to the range in 2013 was the revolutionary Perfect White Black toothpaste scientifically formulated with Activated Charcoal.
What did I think of it?
I was given a selection of toothpastes that included the Perfect White Black and the Perfect White Gold. To be perfectly honest, I’ve only tried the the Perfect White Black as I have been trialing it for the last six weeks to see if it really whitens my teeth. I can’t say I feel my teeth have a polished, white shine to them but I can say that I did notice a slight difference. To be honest, unless you get your teeth whitened by the dentist, your teeth are never going to look gleamingly white with a toothpaste product but I did notice a slight difference. Although I wouldn’t describe it as a “Hollywood gleam” you can definitely notice the difference relatively quickly. Within two weeks, I could see that my teeth were looking a slightly whiter shade as opposed to their usual yellow tint (*sad face* but I drink too much tea and coffee to have pristine white teeth).
I’m not going to lie but it was a bit weird brushing my teeth with “black” toothpaste but if it works then I’m not going to complain! Below is a photo of the various shades of toothpastes so you can see what they look like. I’m going to be honest and say I’m a bit useless at remembering to take a photo of it before cleaning my teeth.
I was also provided with four BHF toothbrushes (as seen above) which I am currently using to brush my teeth with. Although I personally prefer a toothbrush that has a tongue groove, I have found that these brushes are of nice quality and feel that they are actually giving my teeth a thorough clean. I also like that they have toothbrush covers as the amount of times I go away and something in my wash bag gets all over my toothbrush makes it somewhat unappealing to then have to use on my teeth. Whilst I mention travel, the miniature samples I received are perfect for when going away for the weekend.
I apologise in advance for the close up of my face but I thought I should do a “before” and “after” shot of my teeth. Although the photos don’t show a huge difference, I have actually noticed within about two weeks of using the toothpaste that my teeth were looking slightly whiter.

Would I buy again?
Yes. I would be intrigued to see how well the toothpaste whitened my teeth over a period of time. BHF* have very kindly send me another tube and along with the samples I have left, I will be doing another review to see how well it whitens my teeth, so watch this space! Although as a future purchase, I think I would like to try the Sensitive range due to have rather sensitive teeth.
